About Us

Leadership Chester County is a premier professional development and service engagement opportunity designed to foster a vibrant, safe and inclusive community.  Since its inception in 2000 as Chester County Leadership Connection, the course has trained nearly 400 leaders to strengthen at least 360 nonprofit endeavors.

To provide high caliber services to Chester County residents well into the future, nonprofits need proactive and innovative board guidance with diverse expertise.  Leadership Chester County educates people interested in serving at the board level, introducing them to human service needs in Chester County and how business acumen can sustain nonprofit agencies to capably respond.

Graduates of Leadership Chester County receive 6 Continuing Education Units from West Chester University.

LCC graduates also earn the required credit hours for Level I of the PA CPM® certificate. The certificate is governed by the National CPM Consortium and is the foundation of AACPM membership and recognized by ASPA. West Chester University’s Continuing Professional Education has been awarded “Affiliate” status by the National CPM Consortium for the Leadership Chester County program. Level II is administered by Millersville University and basically consists of online courses with a more public sector, practitioner approach and will take approximately one year’s time to complete.
